Author
Zelda French
(they/them)
is a feral raccoon lives in London, likes cats, swearing, good wine and rock music, and really enjoys angsty stories with happy endings. I Want To Kiss You In Public, their first self-published novel, was written during the first COVID lockdown.
Zelda doesn’t care for flawless characters. They love writing about perception and favour unreliable narrators. They enjoy portraying the growth of younger characters, who lack self-awareness but who feel everything deeply, as shown in their series Colette International.
Though they were born and raised in France, making French their first language, Zelda’s books are all written directly in English. That explains a lot, they know. They have a degree in Cinema History and Analysis and particularly love coming-of-age, science fiction, fantasy and horror films. They also suffer from agoraphobia, and live pretty much as a hermit. Don’t be surprised if they usually decline to speak in public: they’re just shy (and bad at it.)
If, like Zelda, you’re not comfortable on social media, consider signing up to their newsletter, The Reading Nook, to be notified about upcoming books and to get access to the infamous Freebies page.
Zelda identifies as non-binary and is very grateful to anyone who uses their preferred pronouns.
